Jason Mueller was a senior security analyst with the US Navy.  He started out as a sysadmin and evolved into a network engineer and from there into the security field.  Since then he’s refined his security skill set and has significant experience in CERT operations ranging from incident response to low level digital forensics/malware analysis.  He is currently located in the heart of our nation’s capital where he is a consultant for a security centric company.

Chris Gerling, CISSP | CEH | GSEC | GCIH | GCFA

Chris Gerling is a security analyst with a financial organization. He started out in cryptography and electrical engineering, evolving into a security analyst and enthusiast.  His expertise lies in IDS systems and computer forensics.

Anthony Gartner

Anthony Gartner is a multifaceted Network engineer working with a variety of businesses.  Running his own company called Computer-Net Solutions, he maintains many servers though out the Virginia Area. He is certified as a Windows 2003 Network Engineer from Tidewater Community College. Some of his credentials include: Microsoft Small Business Server, A+, Quickbooks Pro Advisor, and Retail Solutions Provider.

Christopher Mills, CISSP | GCIH | CEH | CHFI | Sec+ | Net+ | Linux+ | A+ | ACP

Chris Mills is a Sr. Security Analyst at a financial company in Tampa, Florida. He manages their threat & vulnerability assessment program. Prior to Tampa, Chris spent six years as a network security specialist in the US Navy and served as the Navy Computer Forensics Lab manager. Chris is experienced in the areas of computer forensics, incident response, network traffic analysis, risk management, and threat analysis.

Staff, the guys that make this happen:

Andrew Borel

Andrew is a production assistant for SecuraBit.  Much of the work is behind the scenes including editing audio and typing up show notes. His day job is working with corporate accounting systems, and making sense of information out of old databases. In his free time he is learning as much as possible about computer security, and fixing family and friend’s computers.

Ben Cecka, BSIT

Ben began his career in the IT field doing technical support in 2001 at CMC before moving up to become their Director of IT. During his tenure there until ’09 he was responsible for all things technical, but his focus and primary role was implementing PCI-DSS. In his spare time he enjoys being with his family, breaking things with Python, and playing music. He is currently serving as IS Manager for a software company based in California.

Bart Hopper, CISSP | Security+ | MCSE | OCP | Master ACE

Bart is a veteran in the IT field. His first experiences with computers involved typing and debugging programs from the Compute’s Gazette. He allegedly kept his sanity working as a Network Administrator in a multi-platform environment during the first Internet Boom, the Y2K remediation Death March, and the DotCom Collapse. His interest in security began when he stumbled upon the first HOPE conference. Bart is currently a Security Analyst at a financial company in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tim Krabec

Ed began his IT career building and maintaining computers and servers while in graduate school for Chemistry.  After finishing his Ph.D., he began his IT career as information technology specialist and is now a Security Analyst with a large Pennsylvania University.

Rob Fuller

Rob Fuller has been breaking computers and cheating pc games since the age of Oregon Trail where he got in trouble at school for having a million dollars at the end of his journey. Never quite fitting inside a box at 6′4” his time in the United States Marine Corps has left him deadly in and out of cyberspace. Rob now spends his time as a penetration tester in the Washington D.C. Metro Area.

Sean has been working in the IT industry for over 10 years now.   He current day job has him working for a Healthcare facility just outside of Buffalo, NY where he’s considered the ‘Jack of all Trades’ IT guy.  Everything from SysAdmin work to Network security seems to fall into his lap.  In his spare time, he’s working towards perusing a dedicated career in Information Security.

David Shpritz

David Shpritz is the lead security engineer at a small web hosting company based in Baltimore, Maryland assisting customers with web application security.  David started as a web application developer and debugger and was later drafted to be the “security guy” for the organization.  While not working in information security, David is an avid reader of American Literature and also collects flashlights.

    Tidewater community college is near VA beach right? I used to work in a certain military installation near hampton.

    Yeah it is, there are actually a couple campuses located in the Virginia Beach/Hampton area.
